Food banks in San Francisco have never been more important. Unemployment is at its highest level in over twenty years, and people all over the
state are balancing electricity vs. grocery bills.
Food on Wheels is a community-based charity dedicated to delivering meals to San Francisco families, children, and senior citizens. We were founded in 1992 and are proud of the good work that our volunteers and donors have done over the past 18 years.
The vast majority of our work is funded by car donations. We treat every potential car donation as an opportunity to feed dozens of people, for weeks at a time.
Some car donations get fixed up and used to bring meals to those in need, while others are sold to generate badly needed revenue for food and fuel purchases.
If you live in or around San Francisco, and are one of those fortunate enough to have an old car you're able to donate, we would sincerely appreciate the opportunity to talk to you.
We gladly accept car donations no matter what condition they're in. We also tow them away for free based on your busy schedule. Not only will your car donation help feed people in need, you will also receive a federal tax deduction in recognition of your generosity.
